chapbooks home![]() Liz Fortini was born in Wisconsin and spent her youth in Italy. There she learned Italian and French, and has continued her language study by translating poetry. Currently she translates modern Italian and French poets, which she presents at a monthly poetry Open Mic in Dublin, Ca. Her own poetry includes the English, Italian and French languages with a love of nature and strong, appealing visualization. Her poems and translations have appeared, among others, in RB Viewpoint, Cipherjournal.com, Blue Unicorn, as well as local anthologies. Her short story A Little Bit of Old Faithful recently won first prize at poeticdiversity.org and she has taught “Rewards of Translating Poetry” online at http://museitupclub.tripod.com. She is co-author of A Cutting Edge: translations of Rainer Rilke, 2005 and publisher of languageandculture.net, a non-profit online poetry journal which includes dual-language poems.
