Alex Galper

Alex Galper is a globe-trottling poet based in New York who writes in Russian and translates himself and with the help of his friends into all languages he can get his hands on. He combines Russian pessimistic soul, Jewish humor and Western philosophical tradition to create the free verse poetry which is accessable to anyone despite cultural background. He has been published in little magazines across the world and currently is the subject of UK documentary "Brooklyn Siberia" (to be released in 2008). The same year, he is scheduled to travel to Iraq to read before Russian-American troops.
