Уже не головоломка Джон Вудсворт С постамента Ленин уже не приветствует Гостей, толстоведов изо всех дальних стран... В комфорте живут, во комфорте и здравствуют Сотрудники ИРЛИ и ИМЛИ и РАН. Да, Яснополянский дом отдыха не тот, Что раньше стояло тут, пять лет назад. На улице громкой рок-музыки нету, Чему я безмерно и искренне рад! Уже я не вижу таких коридоров, Где стены, ковры в темноте и грязи... Уже о значении "люкса" нет споров... Всё светло, везде вижу знак чистоты. В хорошем салоне на этаже четвертвом Шел вечер для всех зарубежных гостей. Мы ели десерты высокого сорта, И пили вино и водичку и чай. Дом отдыха больше не головоломка, А светлый пример совеременной Руси. В нем можно теперь проживать, как и дома, С наилучшими чувствами русской души. Ясная Поляна, дом отцыха 31 августа 2003 г. And Russian professors to Yasnaya retreating Now find Western comforts of ease to enjoy. Yes, Yasnaya's dom otdykha's not the same building As what I remember from five years ago. There's no more loud rock-music everywhere trilling, For which I am grateful — immeasurably so. No more do I through dingy corridors wander Where carpets and walls reek with odour and grime... What 'luxury' means is a question no longer... And brightness and cleanliness everywhere shine. On the fourth floor's salon an occasion auspicious: The foreign guests treated to a party so fine. We dine on desserts that were truly delicious, And drink cups of tea, sparkling water and wine. The place is no longer a puzzle bewild'ring, But a shining example of Russia's new role. All the comforts of home are now found in this building With all the best feelings of the great Russian soul.
