Book Reviews
Review by Carolee Gearhart For those who complain poetry is inaccessible, Anthony A. Lee has a resounding answer with This Poem Means. With straightforward language his images are quickly clear and gripping, the physical and emotional components laid bare with his directness. This poignant volume continually circles back on itself, striking the same chords while riffing on different variations. There is a lulling, a hypnotic component to this repetition – bringing us into his experience. As one moves through the book however, it can feel like he is hammering the point home one too many times. Mr. Lee has come home to himself, and reminds us of that profundity in our own lives.
